Types of visa

Citizens of the European Union do not need to apply for a tourist or business visa if they wish to visit Peru, they only need to have a passport valid for at least 6 months.

PROMPERÚ announced that our country has received three distinctions in the 2024 edition of the World Travel Awards (WTA), which recognise excellence in the travel and tourism sector.

The high quality of pisco, as well as of the wines and other spirits produced in our country, was recognised in two international competitions held by the organisation Concours Mondial de Bruxelles (CMB) during 2024: the Spirits Selection by CMB and the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles (Red and White Wine Session).

Chancay Megaport in Peru links China and Latin America

For years, China has been building a large port in Peru that is set to become a benchmark for the entire region and revolutionise its trade with Asian markets.

The Chancay port complex, some 70 kilometres north of Lima, is generating high expectations among the Peruvian and Chinese governments and the economic sectors that stand to benefit.

This is a gigantic project led by Cosco Shipping Company, a Chinese state-owned maritime transport company, with a planned total investment of US$3.4 billion, to build a complex of 15 docks, offices, logistics services and a 2-kilometre-long tunnel to transport cargo.
